Drivers post. Riders search. They meet in the middle.

Drivers post their trip — origin, destination, optional stops, departure time, available seats, and a starting price. Riders search for the same route on the same day, and matching trips show up instantly.

Open chat with the driver, ask questions, and use the negotiation widget to propose a fair price. When you both agree, the booking confirms automatically.

The short answers to the questions most people ask before their first ride.

Is Komüte a taxi? +
No — Komüte is a peer-to-peer carpooling platform. Drivers are everyday commuters and travellers offering empty seats on trips they were already taking. Komüte simply makes the introduction.
How is the price decided? +
The driver suggests a starting price when they post the trip. Riders can either book at that price, or open chat to negotiate. When both parties accept a price, the booking is confirmed automatically.
How does Komüte verify drivers? +
Drivers upload their driver's licence and a selfie during sign-up. Komüte runs OCR to read the licence and a face-match model to confirm the photo and the selfie are the same person. Verified drivers get a green badge.
Can I be both a driver and a rider? +
Yes — every account can switch roles at any time from the profile page. Many users are passengers during the week and drivers on weekends.
What if my trip is cancelled? +
Passengers who cancel more than 24 hours before departure get a full refund of the contribution. Cancellations under 24 hours forfeit the contribution. If the driver cancels, passengers always get a full refund.
Is Komüte available in my city? +
Komüte is launching in Canada — Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Edmonton — and expanding into the US through 2026 and 2027. Don't see your city yet? Sign up anyway and we'll let you know the moment we land.
